About Brittany Patterson

Growing up in southern Mississippi, Brittany Patterson was the definition of a tomboy—hunting, fishing, go-karts, climbing trees, you name it. Her fashionista aunt always wanted something “better” for Brittany and tried her best to get her tomboy niece to put more consideration and care into her appearance, but Brittany was confident and comfortable in who she was and wouldn’t budge. You see, Brittany believed that as long as she liked how she looked and what she had on, no one else’s opinion mattered, and she stood on that principle, even to this day.

It wasn’t until her time in the military that she started to embrace her femininity more and consistently put effort into her wardrobe and day to day style. That must have had something to do with having her individuality “taken away” most days per week. Because of this, after about 2 years of wearing uniforms to blend in with the hundreds of thousands of other military members, Brittany found a way to become a new level of expressive through her clothing—by making them herself. She taught herself to sew, which led to a number of one of a kind items for herself for various occasions, and was commissioned by others, strangers included, for special occasion dresses for maternity shoots, weddings, and galas, as well as every day garments like outerwear and tops. Now, after nearly 10 years, she is a fabric inspired, custom womenswear designer who is drawn to bright colors and bold prints, as well as a polished and tailored look. She designs mostly fall/winter outerwear and sportswear that is bold in color, and evening wear that is more simple elegance than sparkle and shine.

By simply doing what she loves, Brittany has tapped into a love of puzzles, “fabric puzzles,” and added tailoring and alterations to her repertoire that also consists of patternmaking, corsetry, millinery, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and Procreate. Her desire is to help her customers express themselves through clothing, the same way she was able to help herself, whether that be through bold colors, prints and textures, or a more neutral look that still brings out your “you.”
